Description

These easy baked cinnamon and sugar donuts come together quickly and are a delicious weekend morning delight.

Ingredients

Scale

Donuts

  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup coconut yogurt (you can substitute plain yogurt)
  • 1/4 vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon cinnamon

1/2 cup butter melted

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Mix together dry ingredients for donut

3. Mix together wet ingedients for donut

4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until combined.  Do not overmix.

5. Grease the donut pan.

6. Scoop ingredients into a gallon ziplock container.

7.  Cut off the corner of the bag and pipe the dough into the donut pan.

8. Bake for 10 minutes.  After the donuts come out of the oven, let them cool for 3-5 minutes.

9. While the donuts are cooling, melt the butter and in a separate bowl mix together the cinnamon and sugar.

10. Dunk the donuts in butter and then dredge through the cinnamon and sugar.  Make sure they are evenly coated.

11. Enjoy!

Notes

Mix your dry ingredients and your wet ingredients separately before combining them together.  Your batter will be a bit lumpy. It’s okay!  Don’t overmix it or you’ll get a funky texture!

If you don’t have almond extract, vanilla works also!
